Most people is Muslim in Malaysia. So, they know well about Halal products and that's make the food industry increase.
The SMEs have several problem, one of them is they have not enough ready labor to go through industry even tough they have much productive people in age range 25 - 60.
They have low productivity, technology, the infrastructure not really supporting, and also the government is not really supporting the SMEs in Malaysia.

Malaysia has a lot of SMEs which has great potential to be market leader but the lack of capital.
Taiwan wants to venture in the halal food industry so that's why Malaysia can export their alal products to Taiwan. And also there are many Muslim registered in Taiwan also.
Taiwan good at technology, so maybe Taiwan can export their technology like a high way, fiber network, etc to Malaysia to develop their infrastructure.
Chain stores, health care service, and solar power are the future project of Malaysia.
